Sharon Stammerjohn

Dr Sharon Stammerjohn is an international contributor to the field of polar oceanography, focusing on how climate variability affects atmosphere-ocean-sea ice interactions with consequential effects ranging from sea ice-ecosystem to ocean-glacier interactions. She has a long involvement using interdisciplinary approaches to understanding environmental and ecosystem response to polar climate variability and sea ice. Dr Stammerjohn is based at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, University of Colorado, Boulder, and has dedicated her career to Antarctic research.
